The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan civic organization, but “nonpartisan” does not mean it never takes positions on ballot measures. Its policy is to not endorse political candidates, while it does advocate for or against ballot initiatives when it believes they align with or conflict with its longstanding positions on voting rights and election policy.

Another great Greater Lodi Area Democrats meeting in the books!

A big thank you to our Speaker of the Month, Stockton City Councilmember Mario Enriquez, for an informative presentation. As our neighboring city, what happens in Stockton impacts all of San Joaquin County—including Lodi.

Mario shared updates on the San Joaquin County Grand Jury Report, the Sheriff’s briefing on the recent Stockton shooting, and Stockton’s Compassionate City Resolution, which reaffirms the city’s commitment to ensuring all residents—including immigrants—feel safe accessing city services with dignity and respect.

He also emphasized the importance of standing with the LGBTQ+ community, canvassing for our candidates, building relationships with endorsing organizations, collaborating across Democratic clubs, and making sure Democrats are on the ballot.

Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, and today we are proud to celebrate Epic Sabor and its founder, Anna Gaby.
Through hard work, passion, and determination, Anna Gaby turned a dream into reality. As a graduate of the Stockton Kitchen Program, she has built Epic Sabor into a business that brings people together through great food and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Greater Lodi Area Democrats believe that supporting local small businesses means supporting families, creating opportunities, and investing in the future of our communities. Entrepreneurs like Anna show what is possible when talent is matched with opportunity and community support.

Today, the Greater Lodi Area Democrats proudly celebrated Pride and honored extraordinary community members with our “A Drop of Change” Award—a recognition of those whose dedication, leadership, and service create meaningful change in the lives of others.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored, volunteered, donated, and helped make this special evening possible. Your support allowed us to recognize individuals who have poured their time, energy, and passion into making our community more inclusive, compassionate, and welcoming for all.

Pride is more than a celebration. It is a reminder that every person deserves dignity, respect, equality, and the freedom to live authentically. It is about embracing diversity, standing together in solidarity, and recognizing that even small acts of courage and kindness can create powerful waves of change.

The recipients of the A Drop of Change Award embody that spirit. Through their actions, advocacy, and commitment to community, they remind us that lasting change often begins with a single drop.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Pints & Politics after Election Day. These gatherings remind us that democracy isn't built in a single election—it's built by people who continue showing up, organizing, and working for their community.

We were honored to hear from Travis Castle and appreciate his willingness to step up and serve. While not every election ends the way we hope, the issues facing our county remain, and so does our commitment to making a difference.

The work continues. We keep organizing. We keep building. We keep showing up.

And speaking of showing up—don't forget our next fundraiser! You won't want to miss it.

Our next event on the calendar is Pride in Lodi. The event will take place on June 13. We look forward to gathering with community members to celebrate inclusion, diversity, and community engagement.
