Attention Private Water Well Owners and Users!

Have you ever wondered what’s in your well water?

Testing water quality from private wells is the well owner’s responsibility but is commonly overlooked. Water quality is highly variable across Montana and testing is only way to know what is in your water.

Montana State University Extension Water Quality, in partnership with Park County Extension, is offering a private well water testing clinic. This pilot educational program leverages capabilities of labs at Montana State University for testing more than 30 parameters (bacteria, common salts, metals etc.).

For a participation fee of $125, participants will receive a report with results and interpretation. This program provides education about well water quality at a good value, but does not provide certified lab results, so significant quality issues identified warrant follow up testing with a certified lab.

Test kits are available from August 24th until September 4th on a first come first serve basis at the Park County Extension Office, located at 222 S B Street, Livingston.
