We are pleased to announce the arrival of our new pumper at the station. We have waited patiently for this moment, and we are eager to have it operational. While it is not yet in service, we are committed to equipping it as soon as possible to provide service to our community.

The Litchfield Fire Department is sad to post the passing of Firefighter Eric Pressler. He was a great person and will truly be missed by many.

One of the most impressive storm systems we've seen in awhile is set to impact us today into Monday. Rapid intensification is expected of this low pressure system which will lead to some insane wind gusts.

Starting tonight around 6-7pm (sorry parents) we will start to see winds ramp up, and by midnight we will be in a full swing with our wind event. Gusts across the state will top out between 50-60mph for many, with potential for immediate lakeshore areas to gust to 65mph. These winds continue all night long into all day Monday before finally letting up Tuesday afternoon.

-Scattered power outages are anticipated
-Tree damage is possible
-Blowing snow is LIKELY with near blizzard or even full blizzard conditions expected at times in any heavy snow squalls/bands throughout Monday.

Wind direction for the majority of this event will be northwest to southeast with sustained speeds of 30-35mph.
