Thanks to all who recently wished me happy birthday. I am very thankful for your prayers and good wishes. I just wish I could see more of you because you are spread so far apart. But I asure you every one is appreciated. It was a difficult week since I was recovering from multiple removals of skin cancers, thank God for my dermatologist and his aides who did a good job. So I look forward to a good year. And my son Matt and Myra are looking back to getting into their rebuilt home from hurriicane damage last year. Please offer a prayer for those damaged in Florida among them is my niece JoAnn and her husband Terry down in Fort Myers. They have not had electric for several weeks. Thanks again every one lets have a quiet and peaceful Thanksgiving.

Recently i visited the Knot's forum and I found some really bad advice regarding priests on it. First If a person has been ordained a priest in the Roman Catholic Church, they remain a priest even though they leave the clergy of that church. No one in fact can remain the power that authentic ordination has given them. And so if you cannot get your priest to marry you, you may ask a married priest to do so. If you wonder about his ordination credentials, you can ask if he is part of a group that verifies that as part of his accreditation. Citiministries is one of the oldest groups providing that verification and also providing a credential to carry on ministry.

Canon Law or church law does not want to deprive anyone of receiving the spiritual benefits of the Church. Therefore in the case where you cannot get your local priest to perform your wedding because you want it outside of church, you have the option of asking someone else who does weddings. In this case a married Catholic priest is next best since he has the sacramental powers given to him by the rite of ordination. These cannot be taken away even though he is not part of the clergy of the church. He is no longer under the jurisdiction of the bishop so he can function as the need of the people dictates. You have the right to ask someone else and so the title for Fr. Carroll's ministry.

Hello on this 4th of July I would like you to know that if you are looking for a Catholic priest to do a service outside of church a married priest is your best bet. Why? First they are not under the control of the local Bishop, who most often prohibits this. 2nd I am a certified priest by CITI ministries.org that is I have presented my ordination credentials, I have allowed my self to have a criminal background check and have passed other requirements so that you know I am of good character. This group was started by Catholics in Boston, Mass. who felt the Church was not doing enough in light of the shortage of priests. Many married priests were forced to leave the priesthood because they felt a call to marry. Pope John Paul II publically stated that marriage should not be a hindrance to being a priest but the leaders of the Roman part of the Catholic Church have refused to change. By using a Citiministries priest you are taking advantage of a right given to you by the Canon Laws of the Church. These laws recognize the powers of these priests in emergency circumstances and if you are in danger of not receiving the spiritual benefits of the church because your local priest has refused to marry you, or baptize your child or come to your side at a time of serious illness then you can ask a married priest to help you. The Church will not currently recognize your wedding but it cannot deny the validity of the spiritual benefit that comes to you.
