I’ve had several people tell me they aren’t sure if they’re registered to vote, where they vote, or how to update their address if they’ve moved.

If you have questions about your voter information, I encourage you to download the GoVoteTN app or visit your local Election Commission office.

The GoVoteTN app allows you to:
✔ Check your voter registration status
✔ Find your polling location
✔ View upcoming elections
✔ See sample ballots
✔ Verify your elected officials
✔ Access election information

If you’ve moved, changed your name, or haven’t voted in a while, now is a good time to make sure your information is up to date.

An informed and engaged community is important to the future of Perry County. I encourage everyone to stay informed and participate in the election process.

Strong Community. Strong Future.

Beth and I enjoyed attending the ribbon cutting for Buddy’s Rescue this weekend and spending time visiting with the dedicated volunteers who work so hard to care for animals in our community.

Many people may not realize the number of abandoned and unwanted pets that organizations like Buddy’s Rescue help care for each year. Through donations, volunteer efforts, and the support of the community, they are providing shelter, medical care, and opportunities for these animals to find loving homes.

It was encouraging to learn that 10 dogs found homes this weekend alone. That’s a testament to the hard work of their volunteers and the generosity of those who choose to adopt.

I appreciated the opportunity to listen to their needs, learn more about their future plans, and share information about resources that may help them continue their mission.

If you’re looking for a way to support a local organization making a difference, I encourage you to learn more about Buddy’s Rescue, volunteer, donate, or consider adoption when the time is right.

Thank you to everyone who is helping care for the animals of Perry County.

I know many Perry County families are still recovering from the winter storm earlier this year, so I wanted to share this information for anyone who may still need assistance or have questions about the recovery process.

The FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Center will be at the Perry County Emergency Operations Center through May 23rd to help residents with storm-related questions, claims, and recovery assistance.

The ice storm affected many people across our county, and I continue to appreciate everyone who stepped up to help neighbors, restore services, clear roads, and support our communities during a difficult time.

Please share this information with anyone who may benefit from it.

I enjoyed attending a couple of ribbon cuttings these past few weeks and spending time visiting with local business owners here in Perry County.

Small businesses are an important part of our community. They create jobs, serve local families, support school and community events, and help keep our towns strong.

One thing I’ve enjoyed throughout this campaign is hearing directly from business owners and citizens about their hopes for Perry County and the opportunities they would like to see for our future.

I believe supporting local businesses and encouraging responsible growth will continue to be an important part of moving Perry County forward.

I appreciate everyone willing to invest in our community and help create opportunities here at home.

Over the past few days, I’ve listened to a lot of concerns from Perry County citizens about property reappraisals and taxes. I understand why people are worried. For many families, their home and property are some of the biggest investments they have.

I believe citizens deserve clear communication, honest answers, and a local government that always keeps taxpayers in mind when decisions are being made.

If elected, I will do everything I can to support responsible decision-making, careful use of county funds, and a process that is fair to the people of Perry County. I also believe it’s important that citizens feel informed, heard, and respected when issues like this arise.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about Perry County is that people care deeply about their community and aren’t afraid to speak up when something matters to them. I appreciate everyone who has shared their thoughts and concerns.

I know many people across Perry County are concerned after receiving their recent property reappraisals, so I wanted to share some information that may help explain the process a little more clearly.

Property reappraisals are required by Tennessee state law and are completed every 4–5 years to update property values to current market values.

One of the biggest misunderstandings is that if your property value increased, your taxes will automatically increase by the same amount. That is NOT how the process works.

After a countywide reappraisal, the State of Tennessee calculates a new certified tax rate. That tax rate is adjusted LOWER to offset the overall increase in property values across the county.

For example, if property values across the county increased by an average of 40%, the tax rate would be lowered accordingly so the county does not automatically receive a large increase in tax revenue simply because of the reappraisal.

This process is part of Tennessee’s “Truth-in-Taxation” law and is designed to help protect taxpayers.

As communicated by the Perry County Property Assessor’s Office, if you believe there may be an error on your assessment notice or your property has special circumstances that affect its value, review hearings will be held May 11th–15th at the Courthouse.

I believe people deserve clear communication and accurate information on issues that affect their homes and families.

Primary Election Day

Today is Primary Election Day here in Perry County.

Even though this race isn’t on today’s ballot, I encourage everyone to take the time to vote. Staying involved and participating in local elections is important for our community.

Perry County has a strong tradition of people who care, and voting is one of the ways we help shape the future of our county.

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to stay informed and be involved.

Focusing on Jobs and Opportunity in Perry County

I’ve seen and heard the recent discussions about unemployment in Perry County, and I understand why it concerns so many people.

This is something we have to take very seriously, not with blame, but with action and a clear plan moving forward.

One of my priorities is supporting our local small businesses while also working to bring new job opportunities for our families.

I also believe it’s important that Perry County has a strong presence at the state level. If elected, I plan to be consistently engaged with state leadership making sure Perry County is part of the conversation when opportunities for jobs, funding, and development arise.

We have a strong community, and I want to help create opportunities that allow our young people to stay, work, and build their lives right here at home.

This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about steady, responsible growth that benefits our county for the long term.

Strong Community. Strong Future.

Out Visiting Across Perry County

I’ve started getting out across the county and visiting with folks door to door, and I’ve really enjoyed it.

It’s been great meeting new people and catching up with old friends along the way. I’ve had some good conversations and have enjoyed hearing what matters most to you. Your concerns, your ideas, and your vision for Perry County.

I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to visit with me. I look forward to continuing to get out, listen, and learn from the people who make this community so special.

If I haven’t made it to your area yet, I hope to see you soon.

Perry County has always been home to my family. This community means a lot to us, and that’s one of the reasons I care so much about its future.
It was great seeing so many familiar faces at the Blooming Arts Festival this weekend. Events like this are a reminder of what makes Perry County special.
I’m thankful to call this place home and always enjoy visiting with so many of you.
