Thank you to the Lima American Legion Post 282 for their continued commitment to the Lima community and to Mark Tubbs Park specifically
Last night, Commander Anthony Gaiter had the honor of presenting a $2,000 check to the Village Board to help replace the roof on the Veterans Gazebo at Mark Tubbs Park. Accepting the check, Mayor John Skiptunas shared very kind words about the Lima American Legion Family and the impact our members continue to have in supporting both veterans and the community. From the work of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary, to innovative programs like Regiment 282 focused on combating veteran su***de, it was an honor to see the entire Legion Family recognized for its efforts.
This contribution represents what happens when the Legion Family comes together. With support split evenly between the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary, we were proud to help make this project possible and give back to the community that supports us. We are also grateful to Brian Smith, who worked with us along the way to help bring this opportunity to light.
As the warmer weather arrives, we are also planning to completely restain the gazebo to ensure it continues to look great and lasts for many years for the community to enjoy.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with our community and are proud to do so every single day. Our mission to serve veterans never stops, and neither does our mission to serve Lima.
We are deeply grateful for the community’s continued support and look forward to continuing this work together. 🇺🇸
