Engage Y'all PAC is proud to endorse Cherlynn Stevenson for Kentucky's 6th Congressional District. Raised in Hindman, KY by a public school teacher and coal miner, Cherlynn knows firsthand what working families face and she has a proven record of delivering for them. In 2018, she made history by flipping a seat that had never been held by a Democrat or a woman, and went on to serve as Democratic House Caucus Chair, working alongside Governor Andy Beshear to deliver results for Kentuckians. Now she's taking that fight to Washington where she will be standing up against the tariffs devastating Kentucky's bourbon and agriculture industries and the Medicaid cuts threatening rural hospitals across the state. We are proud to stand with her.

Throughout this campaign, I’ve heard from seniors worried about losing their Social Security and young Kentuckians doubtful it will still be around to help them when they retire. We can never let that happen. We can fully fund the Social Security Trust Fund without cutting benefits or raising the retirement age simply by lifting the cap on the Social Security tax and ensuring the wealthiest pay their fair share. That’s exactly what I told WKYT and the League of Women Voters at our last debate, and it’s what I’ll fight for in Congress. 💙

The concerns about data centers we’re hearing from families and local leaders in Mercer County — and across America — deserve to be taken seriously. Communities should not have major development projects forced on them by absent corporations and politicians behind closed doors without transparency, accountability, or meaningful public input.

Data centers may bring investment and innovation, but Kentucky communities should not be asked to sacrifice their farmland, water resources, or local control in the process.

First and foremost, local communities must have local control. We deserve a meaningful seat at the table before massive projects are approved that could fundamentally change their way of life.

These corporations must also be required to fully cover the infrastructure and utility costs associated with their developments. Kentucky families should not be left subsidizing private companies through higher utility bills, strained water systems, or expensive public infrastructure upgrades.

Transparency matters. Elected officials should never be signing non-disclosure agreements that prevent the public from understanding deals being negotiated on their behalf. Communities deserve open meetings, honest communication, and real community input from the very beginning.

We also need strong environmental protections, including requiring closed-loop water systems that reduce waste and protect local water supplies. Kentucky communities should never have to worry about losing access to clean water because of unchecked industrial growth.
And finally, we must protect Kentucky farmland. Once productive farmland is lost, it’s gone forever. We should not sacrifice our agricultural heritage and rural communities for poorly planned development.

Kentucky can pursue economic growth and technological innovation responsibly, but that starts with putting people, transparency, and local communities first.
