Yesterday I hosted a BBQ in honor of National Police week for my staff. We enjoyed delicious food and each other's company.
I want to thank my staff for their hard work and dedication to the citizens of this town. We appreciate the support we have been shown and will continue to serve with professionalism and transparency.

Police week is off to a great start! We appreciate all the kindness and delicious food and snacks that have been dropped off! We also received ice cream coupons from the faded rose ice cream shop. Thank you!

Ashley is still missing! If you see either party, please contact the police.

On Wednesday, May 13, at approximately 1105 hours, a deputy with the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Brunswick, Missouri. The vehicle fled from the deputy, and was later located abandoned southwest of Sumner, Missouri.

Authorities are actively searching for one white male and one white female believed to be Jason Spease and Ashley Howes. At this time, clothing descriptions are unknown.

Jason Spease is known to have violent tendencies, and Ashley Howes is currently listed as a missing person.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is urged to contact the Chariton County Sheriff’s Department at 660-288-3040. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
