EMS on the Hill — February 3rd Agenda

7:30 AM EST — Kickoff Meeting
Location: Capitol Annex Cafeteria
• Welcome, updates, and distribution of leave‑behind brochures.
• Review scheduled legislator meetings and talking points for the day.
• Light networking and coordination before heading into the Capitol.
8:00 AM – 14:00 PM — Legislative Meetings Begin
• Visit your assigned legislators or drop in to speak with your local representatives.
• Discuss key EMS legislation, including:
• HB 447 — Emergency ground ambulance coverage & reimbursement
• HB 236 — EMS education and KBEMS oversight modernization
• HB 106 — EMS workforce incentives and mental‑health support
• Support colleagues in their meetings and help guide providers who are new to advocacy.
• Share your experiences, discuss EMS needs, and leave behind brochures.
• It is important to call now to get your meeting scheduled. You can call (502) 564‑8100 and ask to speak with the administrative assistant for your legislators to schedule a meeting.
• If you have already scheduled a meeting with your legislator, please contact David Webb at 270‑584‑4304 so we can coordinate and track attendance.
Press Conference — Time TBD (Afternoon)
Hosted by Representative Raymer
• Rep. Raymer will hold a press conference to discuss HB 447, legislation addressing fair coverage and reimbursement for emergency ground ambulance services.
• We want as many EMS providers as possible standing behind her to show strong, unified support.
• Final time will be shared as soon as confirmation is received.
5:00 PM — Legislative Reception
Location: The Foundry on Broadway

• Join EMS leaders, legislators, and partners for an evening reception.
• Light refreshments, networking, and continued advocacy conversations.
• A great opportunity to thank legislators for their time and reinforce the importance of EMS legislation.
Important Parking Note
Parking in the Capitol garage is limited due to ongoing construction. Please allow extra time for parking and walking to the Annex.
Dress Code
To present a unified and professional EMS presence:
• Class A uniform or agency uniform is strongly encouraged.
• If possible, arrive in an ambulance or marked EMS vehicle to demonstrate the statewide strength and visibility of EMS
