This morning we dropped off breakfast for the Washington and Lee Department of Public Safety staff in honor of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week.

This week is National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. The Rockbridge/Lexington Victim Witness Assistance Program is showing appreciation to our law enforcement partners for their work with crime victims.

“We value Lexington Police Department for their hard work and dedication to crime victims and working closely with our program on a daily basis,” Heather Wood stated.

The Rockbridge/Lexington Victim Witness Assistance Program would like to give a special shout out to Ellen Wheeler and Marie Averill from Project Horizon. Every Monday, they assist us—as well as the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office—in working with victims and witnesses of crimes. Whether it’s offering services or being there for support, they are a tremendous asset to what we do for the community.
