I’m deeply honored that my fellow Fayette County Public Schools colleagues have trusted me to serve as their classified employee representative on the superintendent screening committee.

I’m proud that they see me as someone who will stand up for public education, ask the hard questions, and speak up for our students, educators, and schools when it matters most. I’m grateful for their trust and ready to carry that responsibility into this important process.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001.

So many of us remember exactly where we were when we heard the news. We remember the lives that were lost, the families who never got to say goodbye, and the first responders who put themselves in harm’s way to help others. Twenty five years later, their stories and sacrifices still matter. Thinking of everyone whose lives were changed that day.

I opposed changes to Kentucky’s Medicaid program because I believe Kentuckians deserve better than cuts that make it harder to get the care they need.

Nearly 100,000 Kentuckians have lost access to care. I will continue to carry their voice to Frankfort.

Nearly 100,000 Kentuckians have lost their healthcare coverage through Kynect, Medicaid, and KCHIP as a result of Medicaid cuts backed by Republicans in Washington and Frankfort.

Those aren’t just numbers. They’re our neighbors, families, and communities who are now facing harder choices about how to get the care they need. Now is the time to listen. We’re hitting the road to hear directly from Kentuckians about what they’re experiencing and what needs to change.

I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Kentucky State AFL-CIO.

Long before I was an elected member of the House, I was engaged in Frankfort because of the anti-worker policies being pushed through the legislature. That experience shaped how I see the role of government and why I believe working people deserve a stronger voice in Frankfort. As a union member and now as a representative, I’m grateful for the trust of Kentucky’s labor movement. I’ll keep standing up for working people in the 93rd District and across our Commonwealth.

Spent Labor Day across Lexington with some of the hardest working people in our community. I started the day at the Labor Day Picnic hosted by the Bluegrass Central Labor Council at Battle Axes, then headed to Masterson Station Park for the picnic hosted by Teamsters Local 651.

The men and women of these organizations work hard every day to keep our communities moving. They deserve more from Frankfort than they’re getting right now, and I’ll keep fighting to make sure working people have a voice.

This Labor Day, I’m thinking about what happens when working people have a voice at the table.

I’m proud to be a union member and to stand with the workers across Kentucky who organize, bargain, and fight for better wages, safer workplaces, and a fair shot for their families. Working people built this Commonwealth. They deserve to have a say in its future!

Another week of committee meetings in Frankfort, with important conversations on affordable housing, consumer protection, education, and the rising cost of school construction.

There’s still a lot of work to do, and I’ll keep listening and bringing the voices of the 93rd District with me to Frankfort.
