We are very saddened to hear of the passing of longtime FPANT member and supporter, Raymond Patterson.

Raymond represented both Siemens and the Texas Fire Museum, where he dedicated countless hours to preserving fire service history through the restoration and care of historic fire apparatus. He was a passionate advocate for the fire prevention community and a big supporter of FPANT.

As our association continued to grow and rebuild over the past few years, Raymond was one of our biggest champions, regularly reaching out to ask how he could help and support our mission. Through his efforts and relationships, including his connection with Siemens, he helped make several of our training events possible.

Raymond's enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to the fire service and his local community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Raymond.

Raymond Harrion Patterson, 64, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Fort Worth, Raymond spent most of his professional career in the fire protection industry, a field that reflected his lifelong commitment to protecting and serving others.....

More than 100 fire prevention professionals gathered yesterday to discuss Texas HB 2844 and what it means for food truck inspections and fire safety across North Texas.

As food trucks continue to grow in popularity, so does the importance of ensuring operators have the knowledge and resources needed to operate safely and protect the public.

Thank you to Chief Samantha Jones and everyone who participated in a thoughtful discussion focused on collaboration, consistency, fire prevention, and life safety.

Recent incidents around the country remind us that these conversations are more than code discussions, they’re about protecting lives, businesses, and communities.

This is exactly why FPANT exists: bringing professionals together to learn, share, and strengthen fire prevention efforts across North Texas.

Food Truck regulations are changing in Texas on July 1, but what does that actually mean for local AHJs and fire safety inspections?

With so much confusion, speculation, and misinformation circulating, it's important that fire prevention professionals understand what the new law does, and just as importantly, what it doesn't do.

Join us at tomorrow's FPANT meeting as we break down the upcoming changes, discuss their impact on local jurisdictions, and share practical food truck inspection best practices to help ensure a consistent approach to fire and life safety across North Texas.

We look forward to the discussion.

Beginning July 1, 2026, Texas House Bill 2844 will bring significant changes to how mobile food vendors are licensed and regulated across the state. This month's discussion will focus on what the law actually says, what it doesn't say, and what it means for fire inspectors, fire marshals, and AHJs across North Texas.

We'll also be joined by Chief Samantha Jones, Fire Marshal / Deputy Chief of Princeton Fire Department, who will lead a discussion on food truck inspection best practices, common challenges, and practical considerations for enforcement and compliance.

As always, one of the greatest benefits of FPANT is the opportunity to discuss these evolving issues with fellow fire prevention professionals from across the region and work toward a more consistent understanding of codes, standards, and enforcement practices.

Fire prevention is changing fast, and the conversations matter just as much as the training.

From Food Truck inspections and CaptiveAire systems to HazMat, Fire Inspector 101, ICS 300/400, and High-Piled Storage, FPANT is bringing together fire prevention professionals from across North Texas to learn, collaborate, and strengthen consistency in code enforcement and public safety.

This isn’t just training. It’s relationships, discussion, networking, and real-world problem solving with AHJs, departments, and industry professionals facing the same challenges you are.

Check out our remaining 2026 training calendar and come be part of the conversation.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend; it is a reminder of the sacrifice carried by so many families across generations.

We are grateful for those who gave everything in defense of the freedoms we enjoy each day. May we never forget their sacrifice.
