🚨OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨

Some of you know this already and some may not know. I have been a staunch advocate for my community for many years in various capacities whether it be sitting on multiple City boards, to going to the State Capitol, or traveling across the State gathering perspectives and best practices to form solutions to the issues we face here in Bexar County.

We face a growing deficit of ability, unable to adequately fund necessary services and projects in Leon Valley. The current policies in place and direction our City is being taken down has wasted millions of dollars while our citizens do not have what they need and pay taxes for. Our infrastructure is in dire straits. Our City Services are badly underfunded, under-equipped, and overworked. I have been working with State and County Officials to bring in the necessary 20+ million dollars we need at no cost to us. After all, that is our tax dollars we pay anyway.

We face a lack of prudence and direction in our City planning wasting our most precious and most scarce resource, our land. There is a balance that must be kept in how the land of our City is used.

The list grows weekly it seems. As such I am announcing my candidacy for the City of Leon Valley Mayor seat. As the next Mayor the relationships I have forged with our County Commissioner’s Court, County Sheriff and Constable, our State House Representative and State Senator, and our Congressman and each of their staff teams will ensure that Leon Valley does not have to do it alone anymore.

We will get funding for our infrastructure, our staff, our citizens and return the citizens back to the center of the discussion.

With your support we can take Leon Valley into the next decade safe and prosperous.

🚧🚦 Traffic Alert: Intersection Closure at Wurzbach and Evers 🚦🚧

Heads up, everyone! The northbound side of Evers at the intersection of Wurzbach is currently CLOSED by SAWS for construction until 1/14. Detours are in place, and traffic control personnel are on-site, but please expect delays and backups on both Wurzbach and Evers Road.

👷‍♂️ Your patience is appreciated as SAWS works on this project to improve our community's infrastructure. Take note of the posted detours and plan your commute accordingly to avoid delays.

Had Leon Valley citizens had a Mayor and Council with a spine, we would not have allowed this issue to go on for so long before acting. Knowing what could have been the outcome with less suffering by our citizens versus this dragging feet and ultimate waste of tax dollars and neglect both by the Property Owner and City Leadership weighs heavy on my heart.

And yet the City Leadership fails to understand the situation. They hide behind an excuse of “it’s old so there will be some issues”. NO! I and the citizens and tenants there reject that notion. If you know it’s old then do what must be done proactively to avoid concerns. And there will need to be a significant s of money, not just “some money” invested into this community. This is a cautionary tale for the rest of Leon Valley. The Council says “we need to only put a little bit of money to restore that to compliance”. Had the city cared 15 years ago, then yes annually or bi-annually, a little money each time investing into the upkeep and upgrade of facilities would be fine, but decades of neglect by property owners and decades of neglect of accountability on part of City Leadership has created a crisis that warrants a more immediate sense of urgency and respect that Leon Valley isn’t giving.

A judge sided with the City of Leon Valley and ordered an apartment complex property to become code complaint within a month.
