Lake County is currently in ‘HIGH’ fire danger level. Residents and visitors are encouraged to practice these principles of outdoor fire safety:

06/08/2026

Fire Danger in Lake County has risen to VERY HIGH on Friday June 5. Despite recent rain, drought stress has limited smaller fuels from retaining moisture they typically would have from the recent moisture. Fires can start and spread fast right now. Please avoid outdoor burning, and know your family's evacuation plan.

📍Clarification Regarding Harrison Field

Lake County Government would like to provide some clarification regarding recent community discussions and questions about Harrison Field.

The park remains open to the public, and members of the public may continue to use the field at their own discretion and risk.

Due to limited maintenance capacity and deferred maintenance at the park, all County-sponsored recreation activities have been discontinued at Harrison Field to ensure the safety of County Parks and Recreation program participants.

As part of an ongoing asset management effort, Lake County is in the early stages of conducting a comprehensive review of County-owned facilities and infrastructure, including parks, recreational facilities, roads, buildings, and other public assets. This process will help identify maintenance needs, estimate future costs, and support informed decisions regarding long-term investments in County facilities.

We appreciate the community's interest in Harrison Field and encourage anyone with questions or concerns to attend public meetings or contact County staff directly for the most up to date information.
