France's search for a next-generation long-range fires capability may be accelerating.

Lockheed Martin has formally pitched HIMARS with a reported 18-month delivery timeline, offering a proven solution as France works to replace its legacy launcher fleet. As allies continue to invest in precision strike capabilities, systems like HIMARS remain at the forefront of modern artillery operations.

France has allocated approximately €600 million ($692 million) to replace its legacy LRU launchers.

On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the largest amphibious military operations in history. The invasion marked a turning point in World War II and paved the way for the liberation of Western Europe from N**i occupation.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines who took part in Operation Overlord. Their legacy of service and commitment continues to inspire future generations.
