As we looked back on posts, we noticed we took quite a few food photos.

In this post, please note that we’ve jumped on the food pic “aftermath trend.” Not deliberately, though. Some people are fast eaters.

Thank you to Ambucs for the Jimmy’s Egg breakfast this morning.

Today, we met for our final professional development, fellowship, and great food.

All in All, It’s Been a VERY Good Year. Thank you, friends.

Of course we’re pleased that three of our faculty and our Mrs. Greene are making big transitions in their lives--making choices that serve their families in positive ways.

But, darn it, we’re also sad for ourselves because we won’t have them with us at the LRC working with our students and being our colleagues in our great adventure here.

Adieu to Mrs. Cox who is retiring (again) so she can spend more time with family and more time in France eating croissants.

See ya later, alligator to Mrs. Scott who is moving with her husband. (He’s taking a new position with his bank in Frisco. Not San, Texas)

Bye-bye, butterfly to Mrs. LeGrange who is going back to her alma mater in Marlow where she was on the dance team. In her return, she won’t join the dance team; she’ll be teaching.

Take care to Mrs.Greene who is retiring from taking care and feeding us.

We thank you for choosing to spend part of your lives with us and for working with children. It’s an honorable calling.

Farewell for now, friends.

Win-Win Final Exam for Chef Lewis’s Culinary Arts students.

Students created a delicious lunch demonstrating all the cheffing skills they learned this semester and our custodial staff enjoyed the lunch.

The custodians graded the exam as an A+. Not sure what grade Chef Lewis assigned.

However, our students (and us) were very fortunate the day Mr. Lewis decided to join our team at the LRC. He’s awesome.

Here’s a smattering of some of our activities this week.:

Still learning.

Still having fun.

1. Mrs. Howard’s final projects: posters and brains.
2. Mrs. Scott’s Fashion Design students made a cute outfit for the robot dog.
3. Mrs. DuRant talked with Mrs. Holley’s Pre-Teaching class about taking concurrent classes and earning their college degree to prepare for teaching careers.
4. Mr. Lewis’s class made monkey bread and shared it with us. Do you know why it’s called monkey bread?

Mr. Chalepah's Kiowa Language recently attended the Kiowa Tribe Annual Spring Buffalo Harvest on May 4 at Indian City - Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Students acquired educational knowledge of the cultural, historical, and spiritual relationship between the Buffalo and the Kiowa Tribe.

Over the recent weeks, Mr. Billings's Game Design and Animation students have diligently prepared for their professional certification assessments.

This year, we extend our congratulations to Game Design students Krista Perrine, Katie Brewster, and Ariah Deuel for successfully obtaining the Unity Programmer certification. Additionally, we celebrate Animation students Billie Karty, Isabella Bates, and Alexander Santiago, who have earned the Harmony Certified Associate credential.

These are challenging, industry-recognized certifications. Our students can now showcase these achievements in their professional portfolios, enhancing their prospects for future opportunities. We are very proud to acknowledge these students!

Congratulations, Mr. Billings and students!

AP testing is still happening at the LRC this week. We caught Mr. Schmahl and his AP Psych students fueling their minds before their test. We would say good luck, but with a teacher like Schmahl, these brainiacs will do just fine.

Mrs. Hoerbert, Mr. Smith, and Mrs. Lewis (as well as unnamed others) raised the bar this year for Teacher-Staff-Everyone Appreciation Week.

Literally, we had a bar every day.

Monday: Dirty Soda Bar (In case you don’t know, dirty soda is soda with add-ins like creamers and syrups. Quite tasty.)
Tuesday: Cookie Bar: (Dozens and dozens of cookies baked by Mrs. Hoerbert and her chef-to-be son.)
Wednesday: Chip-Cracker-Pita and Sooo Many Dips Bar (No double-dipping allowed.)
Thursday: Snack Bar (ALL the snacks anyone could want.)
Friday: Baked Potato Bar with Mr. Smith’s smoked pork with all the trimmings and extras.

Then, we each received, thanks to AMBUCS, a new LRC t-shirt for Fridays!

Thank you to all who contributed! We feel appreciated!

And, in the library, our jeans feel a bit snug--back on short rations next week.
