After both of us filing for reelection to continue serving the citizens of Clark County as district judges, and no one filing against us, assuring our reelections, and not having to face the most miserable task of calling attorneys for donations, how else do you celebrate a 39th wedding anniversary today than take a trip down the yellow brick road!!! We are glad that for the next year and beyond we can focus on our jobs to be the best judges for the people of Southern Nevada. Congratulations to all the other judicial candidates who did not draw opponents and thank you to all the attorneys, law firms, friends and family who have supported us!! Thank you!!

On Monday, I think I was the 11th person in line to file for reelection to the Eighth Judicial District Court, Department 20. It has been an honor for me to have served the people of Clark County and Nevada for over 10 years as a district judge and for almost 32 years before that as a prosecutor in the United States Department of Justice and United States Attorney’s Office, both in the organized crime and racketeering program and as the Criminal Division Chief for Nevada. I look forward to hopefully continuing to serve the community for the next six years!

The Las Vegas Review Journal and the Las Vegas Sun often don't agree on the issues and don't agree on a lot of endorsements this election year. One endorsement they do agree on is Judge Eric Johnson for re-election as District Judge, Dept. 20! I am very proud and honored to have the endorsements of both of Southern Nevada's major newspapers. I hope voters going to the polls or completing their mail-in ballots tomorrow will consider these recommendations. I am honored to have the support of so many diverse civic organizations and their members who make Southern Nevada so great! I am gratified to have receive the endorsements of the Israeli-American Civic Action Network, Nevada Veterans Association PAC, Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada Action, Retail Association of Nevada, Citizens for Responsible Government, and Nevada First Agenda Association.
