As Montana Noxious W**d Awareness Week (MNWAW) comes to an end, we just wanted to answer one more important question: "Who can help with noxious w**d ID, treatment, or removal tips?"

Many states have identified and listed certain plant species as noxious w**ds. First, check with your state agriculture agency to find out what species are listed in your state. Most state agricultural agencies will also have resources to help you with noxious w**d identification and treatment. Contact them with any questions.

Where Do the W**ds Go? 🌿 The answer: they go to work on land.

After harvesting, the plants are loaded into CLA dump trucks, hauled to local farms and used as nutrient-rich compost.

Removing excess vegetation supports healthy water conditions, and those same plants benefit the agriculture in our region.

It’s a friendly collaboration with local farms, and one that plays a real role in managing Chautauqua Lake responsibly.

If you value the CLA’s work on (and around) Chautauqua Lake, we’d love to have your donation today as part of the CRCF’s Give Big CHQ event.

Happy Play, Clean, Go Awareness Week!🌿💚

Hiking is a great way to explore nature, but did you know invasive species can hitchhike on your boots, clothing, and gear? Seeds, mud, and plant fragments can travel from trail to trail without us even noticing.

Before and after your next hike, take a few moments to brush off your boots, clean your gear, and remove any mud or debris. These simple actions help protect forests, grasslands, wetlands, and trails from the spread of invasive species:

🥾Clean your boots
🔍Check your gear
💦Clean, Drain, Dry

Protect the places you love from noxious w**ds and other invasive species. Practice every time!
