Officer Austin Abdelnabi went to work this morning in the city he chose to protect. Tonight his family is living every police family’s worst fear.

He was 30. A Marine. Two and a half years on the job, with a whole life ahead of him. He answered the call anyway, because that’s what he signed up to do.

Las Vegas owes him a debt we can never repay. The best we can do is take care of the people he left behind and never forget his name.
