Some days are etched into our national memory forever. Today, we pause to reflect and honor the fallen and the heroes who showed extraordinary courage. Never forget 🕯️ 🇺🇸

On September 11, 2001, brave military medical professionals at the DiLorenzo Pentagon Heath Clinic rushed straight into the danger zone to save lives.

“I never thought the war would come to me,” recalled Retired United States Air Force Maj. Bridget Larew, the clinic’s chief of primary care, who took charge of medical triage and treatment at the scene. “But I stood up there and did what I thought I needed to do.”

Their decisive actions under fire reflect the core Warrior Ethos of military healthcare: ready to save lives anytime, anywhere.

As we reflect on this pivotal moment in our nation's history, we honor the medics, nurses, clinicians, doctors and first responders.

The 99th Air Base Wing will be conducting a mission assurance exercise on Aug 26, 2026. Base personnel and visitors may experience minor traffic delays, short customer service delays, and Giant Voice public address systems messages maybe heard. All exercise public address messages will be proceeded by “Exercise, Exercise, Exercise.” No action is required by personnel not participating in the exercise.
