Taste the Tradition

Taste the Tradition Taste the Tradition is a program of created to promote New Mexico-grown and -made products. Not a member yet?

In 2000, the New Mexico Department of Agriculture () developed the NEW MEXICO-Taste the Tradition® (TTT) and NEW MEXICO-Grown with Tradition® (GWT) logo program in order to identify and promote all New Mexico agricultural products including food, fiber, w**e, produce, nuts, and livestock through the use of one, easily recognizable logo. This on-going marketing campaign helps improve and expand markets for New Mexico agricultural products by increasing awareness and encouraging consumers to purchase products with the TTT and GWT logos. The logos are designed to emphasize the uniqueness of New Mexico agricultural products and the traditions behind them. Email us at [email protected] for an application or for more information. 🌶️ A little piece of New Mexico pride. 💛

We are so excited and incredibly grateful to share that The Sourdough Smith (formerly The Breadsmith Bakery) is now part of the NEW MEXICO- Taste the Tradition® program through the New Mexico Department of Agriculture! 🥖✨

Taste the Tradition® brings together food producers and small businesses from across our state who are making and processing their products right here in New Mexico- celebrating the people, foods, and agricultural traditions that make the Land of Enchantment so special. Participating businesses are also featured in a statewide directory connecting New Mexicans with locally made products.

For our little family bakery, being able to carry this logo is something we’re genuinely proud of.

As The Sourdough Smith continues to grow, one of our hopes is that our growth can support other New Mexico families and small businesses, too- from the local growers behind the green chile that goes into our Green Chile Cheddar sourdough, to the farms, producers, markets, and small businesses we have the privilege of working alongside.

Because when you choose a loaf made here, those dollars can ripple outward much farther than one bakery. 💛

We started with flour, water, a sourdough starter, and a dream. To now have our bakery included alongside businesses from across New Mexico that are helping carry forward our state’s food and agricultural traditions is truly an honor.

Thank you for supporting our family, our bakery, and the New Mexico communities that make what we do possible. We are so excited for what’s ahead. 🌶️🥖☀️
