Hills, laughter, dogs and hiking sandals. That’s what we experienced this past Saturday at the Wincopin trails in Savage, MD.

They have multiple trails throughout this park embedded in a Maryland neighborhood—you can combine different loops to make the hike your own! It’s a great local spot that doesn’t feel too far out from the DC region.

This was the perfect trail to finish out our August hikes. The Wincopin trails in Savage, Maryland, provided such a variety of trail experience, that the combination of trails totaled 7 great miles of fun.

We will be taking a short break from our hikes until the end of September. We are headed to Morocco 🇲🇦 baby! We look forward to 10 great days of amazing cultural experience, finished with a summit of Mt. Toubkal.

This Saturday we revisited on of our favorite go-to trails. The Laurel Hill MTB Trail in Lorton, Virginia is a trail that makes our list every year! It’s lush greenery throughout the entire trail gives you beauty at every turn. The length of this trail is 5 miles if you start tracking from the parking lot. There are sections of this trail that are very open, uncovered by trees, so on a really hot day, make sure you are properly hydrated. winter, spring, summer, this trail will always appear somewhere on our list.

Back at one of our absolute favorites this past Saturday! We hit the Laurel Hill MTB trail in Lorton, VA—a regular annual spot for us that never disappoints. Beautiful pathways, lush greenery, and 5 miles of pure views... what more could you ask for?

Check out this awesome 6 mile trail in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Though this is a little further up north than the local DMV area, it’s still a great trail connected to a vast park. You can reach this trail without actually entering into the park, as there is a parking lot on the side of the trail. We’ve been here multiple times, and it always gives us a great treat hiking around such a beautiful lake.

What a great hike this past Saturday in Gaithersburg, MD for our Spring Lake Hike! The humidity was up, but so was everyone’s spirit and energy! It’s always great to get out and be by water and we had a great group outside!
