Happy to be at the 2026 Michigan Democratic Party State Convention! I'm gonna cast my vote for progressives running for secretary of state, attorney general, and university trustees!

Got to meet some fellow people while I'm here too!

Thank you to everyone who supported me and wanted to see real, science-based progressive ideas in Lansing! It is beyond heartening that 894 of my neighbors and community members voted for me and my grassroots campaign.

This has been such an informative and eye opening experience for me, and this is absolutely not the last time you'll see me in this sphere!

I got to meet some really cool, progressive people like Tirstan Walters and Nick Pigeon, and I will be voting in the general for Julie Vandenboom for city council at large as we share progressive values!

I look forward to keep working with others in the community to make Lansing a better place to live in. From the bottom of my heart:

THANK YOU!

I am proud to share my endorsement by 3.14 action! They are advocates for scientists getting elected for office and championing science-based solutions to problems like climate change and healthcare access.

Since 2016, 314 Action has elected nearly 300 candidates to state legislatures and local seats around the country. These 314 Action leaders are directly driving science-based decisions for their communities — securing local progress on critical issues from climate action to healthcare access and a...

I would very much appreciate your vote! I am for building affordable housing, beautifying our river trail, and making sure that Lansing prioritizes the people that live and work here.

We need to promote the growth of small grocery stores, nightlife in our commercial corridors, and artistic expression in Lansing.

I received an email from a community member, and I'd like to share some of my thoughts on Mayor Andy Schorr not re-appointing Farhan Sheikh-Omar to the Police Board of Commissioners:

I believe that dissenting voices on the commissioner board are important, but that those voices need to be grounded in real, tangible, evidence based solutions.

The recent figures show that everything but felonious assault and robbery are down in the city of Lansing in these first six months. If the police were misrepresenting figures, I'm not sure they would be as forthcoming as they are with those stats. I would, however, say there is room for improvement.

I appreciate that Farhan Sheikh-Omar is listening to his constituents and providing a dissenting voice on the board, but I also understand the mayor not re-appointing him to the board based on his comments. I would be in favor of appointing a similar dissenting voice on the board, but I think Sheikh-Omar went too far in accusing the city of lying.

We need people on the board that prioritize community policing, recruiting from the communities they serve, setting proper standards, and holding the department accountable for any wrongdoing by officers.

Thank you to The Fledge and Rent Is Too Darn High for hosting this forum!

It's been a busy week at Jonah Stone for Lansing City Council HQ (my house)! I went to two forums this week to answer questions from the people of Lansing, and prepping for the July campaigning rush!

Thank you also to the Allen Neighborhood Center for hosting a forum for 8 at large candidates and four mayoral candidates!

This recent Supreme Court ruling is awful in so many ways. I never thought in my life that birthright citizenship could be denied from people here.

The Trump v. Casa decision means that only litigants in a lawsuit are entitled to relief from the federal judge. Meaning, if someone sues to retain their citizenship, the ruling will only affect them.

All rights are now under threat by executive order. I am appalled and disappointed in the supreme court.
