The new South Whidbey Aquatics and Recreation Center is being built for everyone: because access to recreation should support every stage of life.

Congratulations South Whidbey High School Falcon swimmer Jack Hempel, who became the first swim state champion in Falcon history. Jack earned 1st place in both the 50m and 100m freestyle this weekend, he also swam the #9 all-time fastest 50m freestyle in state history. Jack spent several years swimming with Island Athletic Club's Stingrays Swim Team. Making him the first Stingray state champion.
Way to go Jack!!!

What's on our mind...hmmm. Well, 2026 is going to be an exciting year of watching construction progress. In fact, great work has already advanced significantly on our way to an opening in 2027.

In preparation for days ahead filled with swimming lessons, hydrotherapy and senior fitness classes, and workouts for our competitive swim teams at all levels, our thoughts turn to our mission: ensuring access to the center for all. Will you help us?

Consider becoming a Friend of the Pool https://www.swpaf.org/aquatic-center/friends-of-the-pool and help fund community access programs like:
- Free swim lessons for all 3rd graders in the S. Whidbey School Dist.
- Free or reduced-cost passes to those in need

Your contribution, whether one-time or recurring, will make all the difference in our goal making the South Whidbey Aquatic & Recreation Center a year-round space for health, wellness and safety.
