Join us for Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment on June 14th.

This special concert event will be streamed with watch parties all across the country, and we can sing along in Lancaster!

Doors to the Imperial Bar at the Holiday Inn, located at 26 E. Chestnut St. will open at 6pm. The event will begin at 7:30 pm and run approximately 90 minutes.

The all-star lineup includes Jane Fonda, Patti Smith, Bette Midler, Rufus Wainwright, Joy Reid, Wilson Cruz, Broadway Inspirational Voices, and more.

Lloyd Smucker, is this how you want to govern?

Local Republicans who applaud Fetterman for putting “policy above party” - what do you make of this rotten bunch of hypocrites?

After attacking the Texas attorney general, who won the G.O.P. nomination, Senate Republicans are rallying behind Paxton.

For months, the Senate Republican campaign operation eviscerated Ken Paxton, the Texas attorney general, who on Tuesday won the state’s Senate primary, in official statements that attacked him for “incompetence” and branded his personal behavior “truly repulsive and disgusting.”

Mr. Paxton is no one’s idea of an ideal general election candidate in Texas. He has been indicted on felony securities fraud charges and impeached. He was once accused of stealing a $1,000 pen, and his wife is in the midst of divorcing him, listing grounds including “adultery.”

NOW, the committee has quietly laid the groundwork for the 180-degree turn.

The N.R.S.C. quickly scrubbed its website of all of its Paxton attack ads and news releases, including one from last summer, which was posted under the headline
“Ken Paxton’s Lies and Incompetence Keep Piling Up.”

Never mind previous attacks from Republicans accusing Mr. Paxton of being responsible for the rise in rates of violent crime in the state.

Still, the party is ignoring all of that and focusing instead on tearing down his Democratic opponent, James Talarico.

It notably stopped short of mentioning Mr. Paxton by name.

Congressman Lloyd Smucker, care to comment: Two police officers who defended the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, sued the Trump administration to block the creation of a nearly $1.8 billion fund to pay pro-Trump rioters who attacked that Capitol and still harbor desire to harm the officers. They wrote “In the most brazen act of presidential corruption this century, President Donald J. Trump has created a $1.776 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to finance the insurrectionists and paramilitary groups that commit violence in his name.”

But here’s the reality of working at Starbucks: we’re understaffed, struggling to get by, and lack critical on-the-job protection. Baristas have to rely on SNAP and Medicaid, and too often don’t get enough hours to pay rent or qualify for healthcare.
