me and serving as “ambassadors” to visitors and residents alike. Since their appearance, the majority of a Mounted Officer’s job is being in the public eye. The Lancaster City Police Mounted Patrol is one of only four full time Mounted Patrol Units within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and as such, is much in demand throughout Lancaster City, Lancaster County and southeast Pennsylvania. In addition to being a fixture in Historic Downtown Lancaster for over 30 years, the Lancaster City Police Mounted Patrol attends over 160 Special Events and School Educational and Safety Events each year.
