Access to affordable, high-quality child care is essential for children, families, employers, and our entire community.

We were honored to have our CEO, Vanessa Philbert, join Lt. Gov. Austin Davis, Sen. James Malone, and local leaders to discuss the importance of investing in child care and supporting working families across Pennsylvania.

Through initiatives like the Employer Child Care Contribution Tax Credit Program, we can help remove barriers for parents, strengthen our workforce, and create brighter futures for children.

Thank you to everyone working to make quality child care more accessible and affordable for families throughout our Commonwealth. 💙

We mourn the loss of Keshia Gonzalez, who was killed in a domestic-related shooting on Monday. Our hearts are with the victim’s children, loved ones, friends, and all those affected by this devastating act of violence.

While we cannot speak to the specific circumstances of this case, we know that domestic violence continues to have profound and far-reaching impacts on individuals and families in Lancaster County.

This tragedy serves as a painful reminder of the importance of recognizing the signs of abuse, supporting those who may be experiencing violence, and ensuring that survivors know help is available.

Anyone seeking assistance for themselves or someone they know is encouraged to reach out. For immediate assistance, please contact our 24/7 emergency hotline at 717-299-1249 or text “SAFE” to 61222.

This Community Action Month, we’re celebrating the power of community, connection, and opportunity for every family. 💙

Our CEO Vanessa had the opportunity to chat with WITF on The Spark Podcast to share how programs like Head Start and WIC are helping support children and families across Pennsylvania — and why a two-generation approach is key to breaking cycles of poverty and building long-term stability.

When we invest in families, we invest in stronger communities for everyone. Listen to the full episode at our link in bio 🎧✨

In observance of Memorial Day, our offices will be closed today as we take time to honor and remember the brave individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

All CAP programs are closed today with the exception of Domestic Violence Services Hotline, which operates 24/7/365.

Building a community of care starts with honest conversations and, our community showed up with courage, compassion, and vulnerability. 💜

Thank you to every presenter, panelist, partner, and attendee who shared their truths, challenged perspectives, and helped create a space where healing, learning, and connection could happen together.

The 2026 DVS Conference reminded us that none of this work is done alone. As our Keynote Speaker Casey Keene reminded us, “It isn’t on any one of us, it’s on all of us.” We are stronger when we listen, support, and care for one another as a community.
