Lanark Fire and Ambulance

Lanark Fire and Ambulance We are a Volunteer fire and ambulance service covering Lanark, Lake Carroll and the surrounding area We currently have 30 members active on our roster.

That includes:
18 Firefighters
5 Firefighter/EMT Basics
1 Firefighter/Paramedic
1 Paramedic. We also have:
7 Day time medics
and daytime basics off our roster. We are constantly looking to add to our roster so please feel free to stop up at the station from 730am-430pm 7 days a week or ask one of our members for an application if interested

Today is the day!! Fish fry starts at 4pm! Once again River Cities Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration was kind enough to donate the use of a refrigerator trailer. We cant say thank you enough!! We cant wait to see you!!!

UPDATE: US Highway 52 is now open. We still do not recommend travel at this time.

Area departments will bring home the 4th place 1A State Finalist Eastland Cougar basketball team today beginning at approximately 4:30pm! 🚑🚒🚓

Route of travel will be Hwy 26/72 to Shannon, around Shannon, 72/73 to Payne Rd, through Lake Carroll Candlelight parking lot, then headed to Lanark via hwy 73, around Lanark to the high school for welcome back celebration. 🎉

AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM CST
THIS EVENING FOR CRITICAL FIRE DANGER...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Red Flag Warning for strong winds, low relative humidity, and plentiful
dry vegetation, which is in effect from 10 AM this morning to 8 PM
CST this evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Portions of eastern lowa and northwest Illinois

* TIMING...From Wednesday morning through
Wednesday evening.

* WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
Fire behavior is expected to be extreme.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/ PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
