๐ง Securing Our Water Future Through Collaboration
I had the opportunity to join local, regional, state, and federal leaders for a water tour highlighting one of Kern Countyโs most important resources: water.
Throughout the tour, we saw firsthand the infrastructure, innovation, and partnerships that help sustain our communities, agriculture, and economy.
๐ Kern County Water Agency Pumping Plant 6 โ where State Water Project, Central Valley Project, and Kern River supplies come together.
๐ Arvin-Edison North Canal Spreading Expansion Project โ demonstrating how regional partnerships and groundwater recharge can strengthen water reliability for our communities.
๐ Anthony Vineyards โ seeing local agriculture in action and the importance of efficient water use to our regional economy. ๐
๐ Tejon Wastewater Treatment Plant โ highlighting how treated wastewater can be put to beneficial use through agricultural and community reuse.
๐ค As Mayor of McFarland, I have continued working with local and regional water agencies, state water boards, and our state and federal partners to advocate for our communities and identify practical solutions to the water challenges facing the Central Valley.
Our smaller communities deserve a seat at the table, and I will continue working to ensure the communities of Assembly District 35 have a strong voice as decisions are made about our regionโs water future.
