Great history about Lakeview’s Christmas Tree

A little Lakeview History: The Tree of Love, started by the Kelsey Hospital Guild- originally donated from Korson Tree Farm of Sidney, Michigan in 2001 is all that remains today of the Kelsey Memorial Hospital. Today this Blue Spruce stands 45 ft tall and is now our "Village Christmas Tree." It must have been some divine foresight that amongst all of the heavy equipment and bricks being moved to tear down the buildings that the only thing left standing was The Tree of Love. Now we are hoping this tree can be used for years to come to memorialize many memories that residents of Lakeview who were born, worked, were treated, and have had loved ones even pass in the Kelsey Hospital that once stood since 1908.

The Lions Club and The Village Christmas Tree Committee are so grateful to have Corewell Health play a pivotal role in this event by being our TOP SPONSOR! Drew Dostal, Hospital President, will be attending our event to do the honors of lighting up the tree on Dec. 7th at approx. 6:50 pm. Thank you, Corwell Health.
