The combination breeze team of both 16A and 18 Gold players ended on a high note at Big League Dreams field in Perris, California. The girls had a rough start as they dropped their first three games to tough opponents Saturday afternoon. After pulling it together and getting a good couple hours of sleep, the squad rallied together to play again at 8 AM this morning. The bats came alive to score six runs and in the end they tied with the Cal Nuggets, greatly improved from day one. In game two everything came together as the girls played solid defense and ran around the bases scoring 13 runs to the Strikkers zero. Ending the weekend on a high note and also a shut out was very relieving to see the girls play to their potential! It was a great weekend to play together as one group, 16 and 18. Players from both teams will return to their respected squads and practice in preparation for The Valley Invite in Hillsboro Oregon in two weeks.

The 16A Breeze squad got together last weekend and hand an unconventional practice. The practice consisted of survivor type endurance games that were set in place to spark competitiveness in our young athletes. Because our players are practicing and playing up to six days a week during school ball, a change of pace was needed. This practice was planned with the goal in mind to team our players that to win ball games we not only compete against the other team but we also compete against ourselves. The group had fun and we wish all of our district competitors both 16A and 18Gold the best of luck this week...GO BREEZE!!

The 18Gold and the 16A teams traveled down to Huntington Beach California this past weekend for the 2013 Surf City Early Thanksgiving Showcase. After a cancelation on Friday the teams resumed play for Saturday and Sunday with some beautiful sunny weather. Both teams had successful weekends ending the fall season on a positive note. The 18Gold did very well as they felt they greatly improved since their last tournament down in Florida, they look to continue improving as they move into the winter off-season. The 16A team had a rocky beginning but only improved as the weekend progressed taking away many positive things moving into this winter. Both teams will be taking some time off from team practices throughout the holidays but we expect our players to keep working hard to improve as we move closer to our spring and summer seasons. We are very proud of our Breezers through the ups and downs of our fall season, they continuously improved and learned more and more about how to play well as a team and against tough competition. We expect a lot of out our girls next season and we look forward to getting back on the dirt!

Yesterday, November 22, the Surf City Thanksgiving Showcase was at a standstill as water rendered all fields unplayable. Rain in the forecast and rain throughout the day halted all play leaving the Breezers with the entire day to explore California. The 18Gold ventured out to knots Berry Farm while the 16A hit up some batting cages and then headed up to Hollywood.

Today all of the fields have been prepped and are now ready to be played on. The 18Gold is currently warming up to begin their first game as the 16A will be heading for theirs in a couple of hours. We wish our Breezers the best of luck as they battle some tough competition throughout Saturday and Sunday at the Surf City Early Thanksgiving Showcase in Huntington Beach California. Go Breeze!!

11/17 Lake Breeze VS S.W.A.T

On Sunday November 17th 2013 the Washington Lake Breeze 16A scrimmaged the Snohomish S.W.A.T 14A. The two teams battled tough during the friendly scrimmage and some of our favorite umpires showed up to work on their three man crew. We got lucky with the weather as a little blue sky poked through the clouds and the raid held off throughout the entire evening. Not only is the S.W.A.T a friendly rival of the Breeze 16A but many of the girls play against each other during school ball. Last years teams also played each other a handful of times at 14A resulting in many close games. The Breeze used this scrimmage in preparation for their upcoming Huntington Beach tournament this weekend at the Surf City Early Thanksgiving Showcase. They will travel with the 18Gold as they too will be playing in the same tournament. Both squads will be working hard this week before they fly out Thursday as game play begins Friday morning. Check back for a pre-tournament update Thursday and a weekend update early next week. We look forward to one last tournament before the holidays and we hope for warm weather and sunshine!
