Please join us! The Lake Oswego Preservation Society is holding an open house on July 4th from 1:00 to 4:00 at our History Center & Museum. Homemade sugar cookie and lemonade will be served. Admission to the museum is free. We're located at 40 Wilbur Street, just off State Street, in the Old Town Neighborhood. Look for our mascot, Smiley, a red and white 1958 Nash Metropolitan parked in front. Hope to see you there!

I've been asked by several people who I support in the upcoming school board election. The answer is easy. I'm voting for Sara Pocklington and I urge you to do the same. Our school district is in desperate need of new and innovative thinking. The crumbling condition of our schools, the growing number of portable trailers being used as classrooms, and the recent increase in racial and religious intolerance is alarming. We cannot afford more 'status quo' leadership, we need Sara Pocklington.

I was pleased to learn today that school board member John Wallin was among the crowd of supporters at last Saturday's Stand for Love. I'm sorry I missed him, and appreciate his taking a stand.

Kevin the Geek does not speak for Lake Oswego. Discussions are underway about how best to respond to his planned March 4 Trump event. While it would be nice to just ignore him and his event, we need to let the rest of Oregon know that Lake Oswego is a kind, loving and accepting place that supports diversity and protects from bullying and discrimination. Please feel free to share your ideas with me, and I'll keep you posted on the plans here.
