Today was day of connection and I am so grateful. I had wonderful time with a colleague, connected with some programs out there lead by people who truly want to advocate and serve the community, and ended the day making plans for tomorrow. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day to day, that we don't truly see all the things we have accomplished. I am trying to learn how to take a step back and reflect on all that has happened and to appreciate it all the more.

It was a year ago today that these incredible and fierce ladies willingly crawled through mud to support and to create awareness for Ovarian Cancer alongside me. Representing Teal Power & sisterood. 💙

It was 4-years ago that I was blessed to meet these ladies at a Healing Odessey retreat. They have been providing these healing retreats for for thousands of women going through cancer. It is because of these ladies that I was able to push through, I found my voice, I climbed a telephone poll, I met the most incredible cabin mates and now I am here to return to them and say thank you for all they have done for me.

It’s all about giving gratitude to those who have inspired you

When I reflect on the artists who have influenced and inspired me, Jim Croce is certainly one of them. His music has been a meaningful part of my life, and I included a story about the power of his music in my book, Where Fear Meets Faith.

Yesterday evening, I had a very special moment that I will always treasure. I had the honor of meeting his son, A.J. Croce, presenting him with my book, and sharing how much both he and his father have inspired me to keep going through challenging times.

What made the evening even more meaningful was hearing A.J. share stories and express gratitude for the artists who have inspired him. It was such a beautiful reminder that inspiration is a circle—we receive it, we carry it with us, and hopefully, we pass it on to someone else.

It all goes back to something I wrote about in my book: Gratitude and Legacy are powerful. The things we create, the music we share, the stories we tell, and the lives we touch can continue to inspire others long after we realize the impact we’ve had.

Feeling incredibly grateful for this special moment and for the gift of music, connection, and legacy. 💜🩵
