Ward 1 Fire Department urges everyone to stay alert, stay safe, and take storms seriously. The department has responded to multiple lightning strikes in Moss Bluff this year. “If your home is hit by lightning: evacuate immediately and call 911. Lightning can start hidden fires in attics and walls. Stay outside until firefighters clear the home. Safety first every time.”

When we got word our Big Sam Broncos had a mechanical issue with their side by side, some of your Ward One Firefighters stepped up to get the field swept for the upcoming games this weekend with one of our brush buggies. Chief Trahan was able to log about a half hour of his annual driver training while going in circles. If the turf isn’t properly maintained, it becomes slick. We can’t have our Broncos slipping and sliding around and possibly getting injured. Proud to help our community and keep our boys chasing that next State Championship!

Your Ward One Firefighters will be pushing our newest fire truck into service this weekend. We plan to place MB230 into service this Saturday at our 1240 Joe Miller Road Station at 10am. KPLC will be in attendance. We will say a prayer over the truck and firefighters and push it into service as with tradition. The public is welcome to attend. This is a proud moment for the department and community.
