So’sok’muy sin’muy ah’mung’em mong’vas’tiq pu’piw ha’lai’yani
(For all the people, let there be prosperity & happiness - Hopi)
During this time of the year, we look forward and prepare for the upcoming year. It is also a time to reflect on the past year and renew our commitment & responsibilities to our families, communities and people.
As we close another year and enter a season rooted in reflection, gratitude, and togetherness, we extend our sincere thanks to our tenants, homebuyers, LHDME Board members, POL Tribal Council, the POL communities, our partners, and advocates who support and encourage us in providing homes, housing opportunities and related services to the POL communities.
This past year has not been without its challenges. Tribal housing programs have had to navigate uncertainty, limited resources, and systemic barriers that continue to keep us trying to maximize our funds and think outside the box.
These challenges reaffirm who we are, we are strong, resilient communities, who have traditional and cultural responsibilities to serve our people and to advocate for systems that reflect our values, sovereignty, and long-term prosperity.
A reminder that our homes are more than a physical structure. It is the foundation of culture, language, and safety. It is where roles and responsibilities are learned, traditions are carried forward, language taught, and opportunity begins.
We wish you all peace, physical and mental wellness this holiday season. May the year ahead bring hope, happiness, success, blessings and good health to you and your families.
Kwa’kwah/Dawa’eh (Thank you) for being a part of our progress and successes and for helping to make a difference in our communities. Merry Christmas 🎅🎄 and Happy New Year!
