A Public Hearing will be held on July 28 at 5:30 PM regarding proposed regulations involving v**e shops, convenience stores, gas stations, and title pawn businesses.
Please note: You do not have to be on the agenda to speak during a public hearing. Residents are welcome to attend and voice their support, concerns, or opposition on these matters.

*PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE FOR TUESDAY, JULY 28TH.*

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAGRANGE THAT THE FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, THE 28TH DAY OF JULY, 2026, AT 5:30 P.M. IN COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 208 RIDLEY AVENUE, LAGRANGE, GEORGIA. THEY ARE AS FOLLOWS:

1. TO CONSIDER A REQUEST TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAGRANGE BY RECASSIFYING THE USE OF THE FOLLOWING SUBJECT PROPERTY AND TO AMEND THE CITY OF LAGRANGE 2025-2045 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN CHARACTER AREA MAP: A +/- 9.2-acre parcel located on Busch Drive (Tax Parcel ID No. 0393000048).

2. TO AMEND AND/OR RECODIFY A SELECT PORTION OF THE ZONING ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LAGRANGE RELATED TO MINIMUM SEPARATION REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN V**E SHOPS, CONVENIENCE STORES, AND GASOLINE SERVICE STATIONS. The City code provisions proposed to be amended involve Chapter 25B-25 and Chapter 25B-30.

3. TO CONSIDER A REQUEST TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAGRANGE BY RECASSIFYING THE USE OF THE FOLLOWING SUBJECT PROPERTY: A +/- 0.3-acre parcel located at 98 Gordon Commercial Drive, as owned Galyon Properties, LLC., is proposed to be rezoned from Traditional Neighborhood Mixed Use (TN-MX) to Corridor Mixed Use (CR-MX). This rezoning request is specifically associated with Tax Parcel ID No. 0602B002026A.

These public hearings are held pursuant to the Georgia Zoning Procedures Law (O.C.G.A. §36-66-1 et seq.) and the Code of Ordinances of the City of LaGrange.

Update: The Special Use Permit (SUP) application for the proposed Data Center was tabled by the Planning & Zoning Commission until additional information can be gathered. It will not be on the council agenda for tomorrow.

The next Planning & Zoning meeting is scheduled for July 13 at 12:00 PM. We will continue to keep the community informed as more information becomes available.

🚨 PRELIMINARY WORK SESSION & COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA🚨

The Planning & Zoning meeting will be held tomorrow, June 8 at 12:00 PM. The agenda includes a proposed Data Center Special Use Permit application. District 2's request for proposed minimum separation requirements between v**e shops, convenience stores, and gasoline service stations, and several other items. Some of these topics were discussed at last Thursday's Town Hall.

It is not yet known which items, if any, will be forwarded to Council for consideration.
The Work Session will be Tuesday, June 9th at 11:00 AM, with the Council Meeting at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers.

We had an amazing Community Day today! A huge thank you to the LaGrange Police Department Community Outreach team for helping make this event a success. Most importantly, thank you to our community for showing up, having fun, and spending time together.

I haven't played kickball in years, but I had a great time! Days like today remind us what community is all about bringing people together, building relationships, and creating positive memories. Looking forward to the next one!
