NEVER FORGET.

The City of LaBelle and the community came together to remember and honor those lost 25yrs ago in the horrific terrorist attack on our nation.

**Special thanks to Charles Aguero & Tish A Aguero, whose idea started this event and they have been faithfully doing this for several years now. They also donated a beautiful framed lithograph of our flag being raised at ground zero to our local fire department. THANK YOU!!**

This year, to mark this 25th anniversary of 9/11, members of the Hendry County Sheriff's Office,
LaBelle Fire Department,
Hendry County Public Safety - EMS Division, and the
Florida Highway Patrol
were invited to each ring a bell at the exact time a flight went down.

In between bells, members of the public were invited to tell their experience of that day so that the new generation can know what we ALL went through- including a former NYPD officer that was there 2yrs into his career.

The stories were heartbreaking. The appreciation for the heroism displayed by many, some that paid the ultimate price, was reflected by the unity that followed amongst all of us as Americans afterward. We turned back to God and prayed for our country and our neighbors.

These ceremonies are necessary to remind us to stay vigilant and not let our guard down. WE MUST DEFEND OUR FREEDOM from enemies foreign and domestic.

May GOD BLESS the families of all who lost a loved one that day.
May GOD BLESS our first responders and their service.
May GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

Fraudulent City Invoices 🚨

The City of LaBelle is warning residents about a scam involving fake City invoices sent to collect money from the public.

Scammers are misusing the City seal and sending invoices from non-government email addresses (often using domains like .com) to make messages appear official. These fraudulent invoices frequently request payment by wire transfer.

⚠️Important Reminder:

The City of LaBelle never requests payment by wire transfer or through third-party apps such as PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.

If you receive an invoice that appears to be from the City but seems suspicious, please bring it to the Utilities Billing Department at City Hall. Our staff will verify the invoice and, if it is legitimate, assist you with payment in person.
