And in April, friends and I had a great evening on the 9th supporting the Marion Palace Theatre at their purse bingo event. No purses were won, but I made some new friends and had some wonderful charcuterie ! On the 11th, we ate waffles at the Harding Museum. Matt eats them with chipped beef, but I just cannot do that! We supported Royal Family Kids: Marion and Aspire Ministries with their fundraisers to support the great work they do in our community. Thank you Jennifer Dawn, Ellen Thrush and Karen Clark for filling in for us while we were gone. And then on the 25th, I was recognized by the Peace and Freedom Committee at their Hats Off Ladies brunch for my support of their organization over the years. What a special surprise for me to find my name in the program! Thank you for your relentless work in Marion, Peace and Freedom Committee!

April has flown by, and it's time to do a post to recap the remaining events we attended in March. Let me just say that March was the month of female leadership in our community, lifting everyone up with inspiring words of wisdom. On March 11th, we attended the Women's Business Council Athena Awards, where Sara Rassell spoke about the power of being in community instead of comparison. On March 13th, we attended the Junior Service Guild fundraiser, which was a really fun night. We have fabulous talent in our community. On the 14th, I flipped pancakes for the Kiwanis pancake breakfast, and on the 18th, we attended the Marion Area Chamber annual meeting and fundraiser. Heidi Jones gave a focused presentation on her vision for the upcoming year for Marion. I finished the month by supporting the Prospect Lion's Club NASCAR night. It was a great but busy March supporting the community.

March was a whirlwind of activity in our community. Matt and I enjoyed getting out and supporting all the great work that is being done in Marion. I began the month by serving dinner at the Golden Gala to all our VIP guests. Julie and I were beat by the end of the night but what a fantastic event! The music was great, and everyone had a wonderful time. Then Paula's Posh Picks styled me, and we supported the great work being done at the Women's Club home. Did you know that Matt hung all of Terri's beautiful umbrellas from the ceiling? They know how to put on a fundraising event!

On January 19th, I attended another inspiring MLK breakfast hosted by the Peace and Freedom Committee. Gabriel Rosvanis composed and performed a creative song about MLK. He is such a great talent! On Valentine's Day, Matt and I attended the Jr. Fair Building Fundraiser. We had a great dinner and a fun evening! On February 28th, we helped set up for the Women's Club Gala. Then we got all dressed up and attended the Winter Wonderland Gala at the Palace. We had another opportunity to meet new friends and support the great work being done in Marion!

To finish out the year in 2025, Matt and I worked with our friends in Rotary to fulfill a young man's Wish in Prospect. We painted and hung sensory-friendly items in his room. It came out great, and it was a rewarding experience to partner with Make A Wish to provide a new space for a deserving family in our community. We celebrated the holiday season by supporting our community through attending the Downtown Marion Inc. Gala - a wonderful evening filled with hope for the city.

Now is a good time for a November 2025 update! We started the month by attending the Marion Historical Society's Dinner with the Presidents. Matt enjoyed portraying Thomas Jefferson, and we met and made some historical friends. We then attended the Boy Scout Good Scout award dinner, which honored Brooke and Lars Olson's leadership and charitable work in our community. Judge Heiser and I were honored to dedicate the Judge Robert D. Fragale and Judge Deborah A. Alspach Family Resource Center. Friends and family gathered to celebrate their vision and leadership for our community. And we finished the month by handing out candy at the lighted truck parade. Boy, did it snow! Doesn't Danny look cute as a nutcracker?

Now that the dust has settled on 2025, here is my October 2025 update! On the 5th, I hosted an ice cream social at the Green Camp Dairy Bar, where I had the opportunity to meet up with old friends, meet some new friends, and eat ice cream. What a great afternoon! AND THEN THE WEATHER CHANGED, and I passed out candy at the Trail of Treats on the 19th. Holy smokes, it was cold, but I again had the opportunity to talk with friends and pass out candy! Next year, I'm bringing hot cocoa. I learned more about what a Charter City is at the League of Women Voters’ event on October 21st. It was exciting to see community members discuss ways to make our City better. More candy was passed out with my Lion's Club friends at the Monster March on the 25th. It's so fun to see the streets teeming with monsters and characters of all sorts! October wrapped up on the 28th at the dedication of the Women's Club Home History Center. The leadership at the Women's Club Home gets things done for our community! Thank you, ladies.

The fall is such a wonderful but busy time in Marion County, Ohio. I want to update you on my activities in the community for September, and in the next couple of days, I will update you on October's fun and important activities! The month started with my participation in the Popcorn parade. Marion came out to support on a beautiful Thursday night. I passed out lots of chocolate candy to our youngest community members, and some of our more experienced community members wanted some too. Then I took a tour of our local Buckeye School, which was very impressive. The Marion Bar Association celebrated Judge Robert Fragale's life and accomplishments to the community in a moving ceremony. Matt and I supported the positive work being done by the Voice of Hope by joining Gary Risch and friends at their annual fundraiser. I sponsored and played in the 2nd annual Marion Lion's Club golf outing; my golfing was poor, but the company was great, and it was for an important cause. Marion County Clerk Jessica Wallace, Marion County Recorder Leslie Longstreth, Judge Heiser, and I presented the Good Deeds program at the Marion Public Library. I attended the moving dedication for the Victim's Memorial Garden. Matt and I finished the month by attending the dedication of the historical marker at the Sawyer Sanatorium site, which was an interesting story.

Thank you to everyone at the Marion Palace Theatre for inviting me to participate as Judge Brandeis in the recent production of Annie. (Can you tell that I am very skeptical of Rooster’s story?) I had fun! Our community members are very talented. What a joyful event with such positive energy! The cast was very gracious in guiding this newbie every step of the way! The Palace is a beautiful place that can expose young and old to different worlds and stories.
