If you happen to receive a text like the one illustrated below, please be aware it did NOT come from National Bank & Trust, or any financial institution. Legit text message updates, used by NBT, come from an official 5 digit number - not a regular phone number.

🚩 Always do your research before replying YES, NO or STOP to strange numbers. When you get a spam text, your first instinct may be to reply “STOP” in hopes that doing so unsubscribes you. In many cases, the scammers just want a response of any type and by replying, it won’t do anything except tell them your line is a genuine phone number and you may soon find yourself with even more spam messages.

Drought Monitor - With all the recent rains, Fayette County is currently not in the drought range. We encourage you to still practice conservation of the groundwater.

**ATTENTION LANDOWNERS**
The Fayette County Groundwater Conservation District is beginning new phase in groundwater level monitoring. The District intends to utilize unused rig supply wells located at oil/gas sites to monitor the water levels in the aquifers within the County. This is in addition to the ongoing volunteer water wells being monitored. Monitoring static water levels, or water levels not affected by active pumping from the well, at these sites allows for a much more precise measurement of the true water levels in our aquifers.

Data collected from these sights will provide scientific information and a factual basis needed for State required water planning by the District and Desired Future Conditions compliance. Additionally, the data is critical for identifying any areas of concern.

Granting the District permission to enter your property and have access to the unused rig supply well associated with the site, will allow us to conduct an evaluation of the water well for suitability for the program, install a static water level monitoring station if the location is suitable, and periodically return to the station to collect data. If you have an oil/gas site on your property and would like to participate in this program, please contact the District office.

The Fayette County GCD spent some time at Fayetteville ISD with Mrs. Bededa's 7th grade science class. They learned about aquifers in Fayette County, watersheds, aquifer characteristics and had an aquifer demonstration. Shoot us an email if you'd like for us to come visit your class. :)

OUR MISSION

To provide for the conservation, perservation, protection, recharging, and prevention of waste of groundwater and groundwater reservoirs or their subdivisions, and to control subsidence caused by withdrawl of water from those groundwater reservoirs or their subdivisions, consistent with the objectives of Section 59, Article XVI, Texas Constitution. Groundwater conservation districts created as provided by this chapter are the state's preferred method of groundwater management through rules developed, adopted and promulgated by a district in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.
