My name is Abdul Cole, and I am in the Diesel & Heavy equipment Technician program. I presently hold a position as Student Ambassador at Western Technical College and Multi-Cultural Vice-President at Western Technical College. I’m also working as a Resident Assistant at the Western Resident Hall, while juggling being a Senior Security Officer at Western Technical College. As a student of color, I want to ensure that every student is treated equally and respectfully despite their race or background. My goals are to be the voice for all students making sure their voices are heard and working with the directors of the school board, to work on meeting as many reasonable demands that we can, that are in the best interests of the student body. While also acknowledging, what can still be in favor of the school’s best interest. My visions are to truly align what the best interest of the student body is, but while keeping the best interests of the school board insight as well. For the past year and a half, I have made it my mission to get to know the students, faculty, and engaging myself with the community by becoming a Residents Assistant in the Resident Hall, joining the Multi-Cultural Club, and becoming part of leadership working my way up as a Senior Security Officer at Western. I have also had the opportunity to represent Western Technical College at a state level as the Student Ambassador for the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Additionally, I am compelled to serve others and my goal is to see every student at Western reach their full potential. Considering all the experience I have obtained; I believe I can represent the students at Western Technical College in the best possible manner. As first a leader and second as a friend.

I proudly endorse K.C. Cayo to be elected the next Council Member from La Crosse’s 9th District.

K.C. Cayo is running on a platform of stronger protections for tenants, reducing and reallocating police spending, and bringing q***r representation to the La Crosse Common Council.

As a Former Student Body President of Western Technical College under President Stanford’s leadership I believe that he has made great strides to making our campus better by increasing involvement and support systems for students across our campus.

But with that I cannot support this wage increase the college is proposing as I feel during the pandemic the funding and extra money should go to the teachers who struggle to pay for food or rent during COVID-19 or upgrading facilities across campus to ensure student safety.

I find that President Stanford is a strong leader and a great advocate for Western but I feel this money must go to the people who need it most and who is struggling the most.

If approved by the Western Technical College District Board on Tuesday, president Roger Stanford's salary would increase from $195,000 to $223,250.

Endorsement: If I was still Student Body President I would be one of the first people to sign this but unfortunately I no longer have that power given I have resigned to attend a different university.

That is why I encourage Western Technical College’s New Student Body President Anne Schulze to sign this and promote this amazing cause.

The time is now and together we can get this done!

Western Student Government is saddened to announce that Student Body President, Joseph Brown has officially resigned as President due to some unexpected events in his personal life. Vice President Anne Schulze will assume the duties of Student Body President of Western Technical College.

Joseph has spent two years at Western serving as the Parliamentarian, Campus Events Coordinator, WSG Lieutenant Governor, and WSG AFO. His presidency may have been cut short, but his love for the Western Student Body and the enthusiasm he brought to General Assembly meetings will never be forgotten. We wish you all the best in life wherever you decide to complete your education.

I have officially resigned the duties of being Student Body President at Western Technical College.

Looking for some good news?

Western's The Union Market is opening Monday, July 6 with a special red cart service at the Cleary Courtyard! The service will be held outside and using social distancing protocols.

The Red Cart will be open Monday-Friday 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

My updated official resignation day and time as Western Technical College Student Body President will now be July 7th at 1:00pm from June 26th at 5:00pm due to a final project.
