2026 Pick Up The Poconos event is scheduled on April 25, 2026 9:30am-12:30pm.

The Parks & Recreation Committee will be cleaning up the parks and there will be opportunities for road cleanups in the Township. The Township will have supplies to offer that were donated by Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.

Even though Pocono Township has our Spring and Fall Cleanup scheduled for 2026, we are beyond fortunate to partner with the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority to offer residents an additional opportunity for safe hazardous waste disposal.

The Waste Authority will host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event for Monroe County residents on:

Saturday, July 25, 2026
8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Military Road Recycling Site
1114 Military Road, Stroudsburg

This event provides a safe way to dispose of items such as automotive fluids, oil-based paints, household chemicals, lawn treatments, batteries, cleaners and many other hazardous materials that should not go in regular trash.

We appreciate the continued partnership with the Waste Authority and the opportunity to provide additional environmental resources for our residents.

A big thank you to everyone who came out for Polk Township’s annual Environmental Day last Sunday. What a great day! Whether it was tasting our freshly pressed cider, visiting with Smokey Bear, viewing the sky with a telescope, playing in the corn pit, or casting a fishing rod, everyone had an awesome time.

Special thanks to all the participating organizations and to those who donated or provided apples, pumpkins, mums, cornstalks, hay, straw, grains and tents, as well as the fabulous volunteers from Pleasant Valley High School. Your contributions helped make the event a success!

The CJERP Regional Planning Committee is leading an effort to update the joint Comprehensive Plan, which is a way for the five neighboring communities to work together and create a shared vision for the future—covering things like housing, transportation, natural resources, and economic growth.

As part of this effort, we want to hear from you! There are two ways to participate—come to the Open House and take the Community Survey!

Join us for the Vision and Voices Open House on Tuesday, October 22nd from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at the Chestnuthill Township Municipal Building, 271 Route 715, Brodheadsville, PA 18322.
