As grass cutting moves into full swing for the season, please be mindful of motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, and the like. Grass on the roadways can turn a leisurely ride into an emergency in a moment. Let’s look out for each other and have a safe summer!

What seems to be "just grass," is a HAZARD to riders. Please be mindful.

We fought drifting all day but we are finally makng some headway! Pictured is a drift near 800 E and 300 N. Some areas are bare pavement (far background) and some are drifted over our plows.

We appreciate your patience as we’ve fought this storm. The extremely low temperatures mean that this snow will stay with us for a while yet.

Slow is safe!

We are out plowing today. It has been impossible to keep them cleaned off with the winds. We will continue through the afternoon into the evening. The winds will be slowing down, but drive slow and be prepared for some drifting still. Also, the intersections are slick, so be prepared to stop long before the intersection. The freezing temperatures won't allow salt to work.

Be patient and drive slowly and safely!

County travel status decisions are made at the local level. That information is then provided by each county's emergency management agency. As counties initiate official travel advisories and notify the state, the map updates with that information. IDHS does not make the decision to change a counties level.

Trucks have been out since 7:00 this morning working hard to clear the roadways. However, snow is still falling and winds are creating drifts with this light and fluffy snow.

Please stay safe tucked away in your nice warm home so that we can do our job for you! Thank you
