is working with local Knoxville businesses and government to change policies regarding plastic bags and disposable cups. By encouraging businesses to create incentive programs, we will save consumers and businesses money while protecting the environment.

Come Wednesday shoppers in the Town of Southampton won't find the convenient single-use plastic bags they're used to at checkout counters. The town's new law banning such bags takes effect on Earth Day.

There's a barge full of garbage floating through Knoxville this week! The Living Lands and Waters barge is here to remind us of where all our extra trash (ahem, plastic bags and cups) winds up. Hurry down to Volunteer Landing today for a free tour from 1-4!

The nationally recognized Living Lands and Waters barge is docked at Volunteer Landing April 8-15, 2015, as part of the Tennessee River Tour.
