Celebrating the Legacy of the Daily Living Center

The Knoxville-Knox County CAC is proud to celebrate the extraordinary legacy of the Daily Living Center Adult Day Center as it concluded nearly 50 years of service to our community on June 30, 2026.

For nearly a quarter century, CAC has operated the Daily Living Center, which has been a place of compassion, connection, and support for older adults and their families. Through the dedication, professionalism, and kindness of its staff and volunteers, countless participants have experienced meaningful engagement, friendship, and care that enriched their lives and strengthened our community.

As we reflect on the Center's many accomplishments, we also recognize that changing financial realities and long-term sustainability challenges have led us to make the difficult decision to conclude this chapter of service. While the program itself will come to an end, its impact will continue to be felt through the lives it has touched and the memories it has created.

The Daily Living Center represents just one part of CAC’s longstanding commitment to older adults. Each year, the CAC Office on Aging serves nearly 10,000 older adults, caregivers, and families through a wide range of programs and services. We remain steadfast in our mission to support aging with dignity, independence, and connection through information and benefits assistance, caregiver support, transportation services, and opportunities for engagement throughout the community.

We extend our deepest gratitude to every participant, family member, staff member, volunteer, supporter, and community partner who has been part of the Daily Living Center's story. Your contributions have created a lasting legacy of care and compassion that will continue to inspire our work for years to come.

As we celebrate the Daily Living Center's remarkable 24-year journey, we honor the relationships built, the lives enriched, and the difference this program has made in helping older adults thrive. Its legacy is one of service, kindness, and community—a legacy that will not be forgotten.
