What does a CASA volunteer actually do? The answer is bigger than a courtroom appearance.

Our advocates at CASA of East Tennessee are appointed by a judge to represent a child's best interests in juvenile abuse and neglect cases, and most of that work happens long before anyone walks into a hearing.

An advocate gets to know the child and talks with the people in that child's life, including parents and relatives, caregivers, teachers, medical professionals, attorneys, and social workers. They bring what they learn to the judge so the court hears what the child actually needs. Our volunteers listen first, and then they act.

The children we serve also aren't all in traditional foster care. Many are placed with relatives instead, and they need someone speaking up for them just the same.

We are thrilled to officially introduce the new Executive Director for CASA of East Tennessee- our very own Colby Webb!

Colby is no stranger to our organization or our mission. He's served as our Program Director for the last three years and has dedicated his entire career to helping children in our community. He is already well-known and deeply beloved by our volunteers, staff, and supporters, as well as the wider non-profit community.

Appointing Colby to lead CASA into this next chapter was the natural, best possible decision our Board of Directors could have made. He brings incredible heart, experience, and vision to the role, and we are confident in the future of our agency under his leadership.

Please join us in giving Colby a huge congratulations in the comments below!

💙 Celebrating Amy Jackson! 💙

After five incredible years as Executive Director of CASA of East Tennessee, we recently gathered to celebrate and say farewell to our amazing Amy Jackson.

For five years, Amy has poured her heart into this organization and, most importantly, into the mission of ensuring children in our community have a voice and a dedicated advocate in their corner. Her leadership, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on CASA of East Tennessee, our volunteers, our staff, and the children and families we serve.

While we are certainly sad to see her go, we are even more excited to watch Amy begin her next adventure! We know that she will continue to make a difference and leave things better than she found them. ❤️

Amy, thank you for five years of leadership, friendship, laughter, and dedication to CASA. We are incredibly grateful for everything you have done and the foundation you have helped build for the future of CASA of East Tennessee.

Congratulations on your next chapter, Amy! We love you, we appreciate you, and we will be cheering you on every step of the way! 🎉💙

Knoxville showed up for CASA. ✨

The theme of our new inaugural soirée was Gatsby for Good! We sold out all 50 tickets and brought together an incredible mix of longtime CASA supporters and new friends discovering our mission for the very first time.

We celebrated one chapter of CASA leadership while welcoming the next, revealed the 2027 Storybook Ball theme Through the Wardrobe, and opened premier sponsorship opportunities with an incredible response.

And because apparently no Gatsby party should end quietly... 12 guests finished the evening by jumping into the pool in full 1920s attire after our host Don pledged an additional donation to CASA of East Tennessee for every person who took the plunge. 🥂💚

But the real magic was the room itself. Volunteers, hosts, vendors and guests all leaned completely into the experience, creating an evening filled with connection, generosity and a whole lot of fun.

The green light is officially on. ✨

Stick around to see what’s in store for the 2027 soirée!

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to someone like Hailey!

Last night, our staff, volunteer advocates, and board members gathered to celebrate Hailey before before she makes her big move out of state. As our advocate supervisor, Hailey has poured her heart into supporting our advocates and standing up for Knox County’s children. To say we adore her would be an understatement- she is going to be missed beyond words!

Hailey’s last day with us is Friday, July 31st. Please join us in thanking her for her passion and dedication by dropping some love in the comments below!
