[English below] CONFIRMADO: 5 de septiembre, 9:05 pm el Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) está llevando a cabo actualmente un retén de sobriedad programado en el condado de Grainger. Mire esta página para obtener más actualizaciones.

YOU HAVE RIGHTS! If you encounter a checkpoint, the police may signal for you to pull you over.

If asked for ID, you are only legally obligated to provide your license, registration, and proof of insurance. At a sobriety checkpoint, you are obligated to get out of your vehicle and take a breath test if requested.

If you are stopped, the police may ask to look in your car. You always have the right to refuse consent to a search and refuse to answer any questions until you speak with a lawyer. You also have a right to record the police at the traffic stop.

While these are your rights, we know that the police break the law and violate people’s rights all the time. It is safest to avoid going through the checkpoint altogether.
