America 250 themes focus on reflecting on the nation’s past and engaging all 350 million Americans by July 4, 2026. And remember..... our nation's past includes local history across these past 250 years.

As we celebrate our history, the local America250 will have a booth at the North Judson Makers Market on May 28, 2026. Local history focusing on Norwayne Field and the surrounding area. What do you know about the North Judson's 1921 "Revival of Progress"? the Liberty Way? War Memorial? the 1954 water tower tragedy? the Carnegie Library? town's first water system?

Stories on topics plus memories of the field will be available. Stop by, ask questions, and feel free to share memories you may have.

In a letter to his wife Abigail on July 3, 1776, John Adams wrote that American independence should be celebrated with "pomp and parade, with shews, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more". Tonight the Masonic lodges of Knox and North Judson celebrated in just such a way, with a celebration of the Boston Tea Party.

Many people were able to attend this special event.

Attached are a few photos from the evening. Descriptions are by each photo.
