Nearly 50 Flock Safety cameras are now logging license plates across Dare County — with no public vote and little to no debate.
These automated readers don't just watch for crime. They build a permanent record of who drives where, when, and how often — innocent or not.

DeFlock Dare is a local group tracking where these cameras are and organizing residents who want answers. Give them a follow, and check out the active petition calling for their removal.
Other cities, including Los Angeles, are already backing away from Flock contracts over civil liberties concerns. Dare County residents deserve the same conversation.

Privacy isn't a partisan issue. It's a basic one.

The founders knew they were building something fragile and uncommon, a republic that would only endure if each generation chose to care for it. They warned that party spirit could gradually weaken the bonds that hold a nation together, and that warning still feels alive in our own time.
