Ty began his career with the company in 2021 as a Seed Treatment Specialist for our company’s fertilizer division. In 2024, he transitioned into the gas division as a Service Technician, where he “had the opportunity to learn from some very knowledgeable colleagues, including Gary Whitley and Kevin Pearson.” He says, “Their guidance and experience helped me grow both personally and professionally.”

Today, Ty proudly serves as the manager of our Tidewater Energy locations in Goldsboro, La Grange, and Richlands. He states, “What makes this job truly special are the people I work alongside each day and the customers we have the privilege to serve.”

Outside of work, Ty enjoys spending time with his wife and their two beautiful daughters.

Kandace joined the Tidewater Energy team in December 2019 as an administrative assistant at our Goldsboro gas outlet. In April 2023, she moved over to our Service Department to serve as the admin at that location.

When asked about her job, she says, “I love connecting with customers from all the different cities we serve, and I’m lucky to work alongside such a great team every day.”

She says, “Outside of work, life has been even better—I married my amazing husband Logan, and in November 2025 we welcomed our sweet little boy, Waylon Ryder.”

When she’s not working, you can usually find Kandace spending time with friends and family, riding side-by-sides, or anywhere near the water during the summer. She says, “Work hard, enjoy life—that’s the balance I try to live by.”

Joining the team in February 2023, Derek has been one of the dependable LP delivery drivers at our Tidewater Energy location in Washington for the past 3 years. In addition to delivering to the customers on his route, he helps train new drivers hired on at the location.

When asked about his job, he says, “I have seen a few people come and go over the last few years, and I enjoyed working with all of them.”

In his free time, Derek likes playing sports with his two boys. He also enjoys hunting and shooting guns.

Wendell joined the company in April 2010 as a Manager Trainee under the guidance of Marston Barwick. He says, “During my training, Marston made sure I was involved in every aspect of the operation. I spent time working closely with the Service Department, learning about plumbing, servicing gas logs, and working with to***co barns. While there, I also began assisting with ordering parts and managing inventory, which helped me develop a strong understanding of the business. When we took over the Butterball account, I was involved in helping set tanks at the new location, gaining valuable hands-on experience.”

In 2015, Wendell became the manager of the Seven Springs location. After flooding forced the closure of that office in 2016, they temporarily relocated to Calypso before moving to La Grange in 2017. In 2018, he also began managing the Richlands location and later took on responsibilities for the New Bern office as well. Currently, Wendell serves as the manager of our Tidewater Energy location in La Grange.

Wendell says, “Over my 16 years with the company, I’ve had the privilege of working with many truly remarkable people, and I credit them all for the role they’ve played in my success.”

Joining the Tidewater Energy team in July of 2024, Jimmy is one of the hardworking propane delivery drivers at our Alliance location.

In his time with the company, Jimmy has done a great job of acquiring new accounts. He enjoys meeting the customers on his route while he is out delivering and starting up conversations with possible new customers.

In his spare time, Jimmy loves to hunt and fish. He is also a diehard Cowboys and Tarheels fan, and likes “talking junk” with his coworkers when their teams match up. Jimmy has been married to his wife, Joanna, for 34 years.
