She’s home! 🚌

New York Bus Service GM New Look #1481 arrived at her new home over the weekend, beginning an exciting new chapter in the life of this historic bus.

There is a great deal of work ahead of us, but the goal is to carefully restore and preserve #1481 as a living testament to the men and women of New York Bus Service who kept New Yorkers moving for generations.

More than just a bus, #1481 represents an important piece of New York transportation history, and the countless drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, maintenance employees, and other dedicated people who made New York Bus Service what it was.

We’re looking forward to sharing more about #1481’s history, her journey to preservation, and our plans for restoration in the weeks and months ahead.

There’s plenty of work to be done, and this is only the beginning.

But for now, we’re simply happy to say…

Welcome home, #1481! 🚌❤️

Special thanks to the Friends of The NJ Transportation Heritage Center

🚍 Attention New York Bus Service Alumni! 🚍

Leo Ortiz is organizing a New York Bus Service reunion next month in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina!

This is a great opportunity to reconnect with former coworkers, share stories, relive old memories, and celebrate the special camaraderie that made New York Bus Service such a remarkable place to work.

Whether you spent a few years or an entire career with NYBS, we hope you’ll join us for an afternoon of friendship, nostalgia, and appreciation for the company that many of us still proudly call the best bus company in the United States.

We look forward to seeing old friends and making new memories together!
